The emblem of India being the lion, I was drawn to the allure of certain characteristics of this big cat, the mane of the lion was used as stop sign signalling alert. I wanted to capture a look of menacing certainty that would win any staring contest but at the same time would not invoke fear.

It took me three years to create something that I was satisfied with and felt represented me. The concept here is using one shape to create the letters 'r', 'a', 'j', and 'a' again (raja - my name) in a maze type of structure. You can see it animated here, on my friend Nirmal's website . This logo is also published in LogoLounge 3 and was featured in a many more worldwide publications. The design came to me intuitively but has a resemblanc to patterns seen in ancient indian art work. This type of motif was eventually coined the Greek Key and in recent years, used by Versace. I was selling clothing with the 'Raja' logo on it since 2003. Hmmm...
